You know martin, O-Cyndie may have a slightly over the top delivery, but at least some of the things she is saying make sense. On the other hand, your argumentative 'style' consists not of providing legitimate rebuttal to her statements, but meerly insults.

If you want to keep posting here, please drop the insults. They are inflametory and distract from the real issues at hand. Dave and I created this website for intelligent discussion of issues. Continuous name calling and juvenile mud slinging are not our responsibility to support.

The Beacon Journal Forums offer a venue which permits the behavior you and a few others have exhibited here over the last several days. You might want to consider taking your dialog there.

You are right OMG. When I bought my house 15 years ago - I would walk around HS at any time of night without a concern. Not any more.
Still, there is a difference between been righteous and self-righteous, as I am sure you understand.
Non-original cydie does not.

Curious as to why rage in any sense, self-righteous or not, against crime is such a crime. Seems like there isn't enough rage or crime would be nonexistent and everyone would feel safe walking down the street or to their car at any time, any place. I don't think that's the current mileau (with the exception of the drunk who doesn't feel a thing).

martin on 2 August 2009, at 11:30, writes:
@non-orignal cyndie - Oh Cyndie, so sad to hear you are an underacheiver. Now all your self-righteous rage makes perfect sense.

Original Cyndie on 2 August 2009, at 11:04, writes:
My friend told me about your reply...you must have been the black sheep; hence your relegation to the middle class ghetto down here with us...why don't you ask one of your upper class relatives to take you in so we can all breathe more easily, knowing that you're safe, back among your own kind...

BTW - Thanks also for setting the bar so low in HS. To celebrate, I think will go out tonight and paint the side of a bulding since, afterall, interaction is the sign of a healthy neighborhood.

  @OMG - I do - everyday.

@non-original cyndie - Thanks for the Adrea Dorkin imitation. It made my day. And btw - I come from a long line of doctors. So let me get my scapel and I can reverse your lobotomy.

OMG on 1 August 2009, at 13:14, writes:
Martin: Well, what are you doing, standing there watching them? Why don't you pitch in and help take them off the poles then if the bar owners won't pitch in. Show us some of that "interaction".

Original Cyndie on 1 August 2009, at 11:25, writes:
Martin, you need to take a laxative that will flush out your brain...flyers don't incite violent crime in most cases...unless some idiot is walking around with a "kick me" sign on his back. I don't give a DAMN about the "majority of flyers posted from here to eternity (having) nothing to do with addressing crime in Highland Square..."!!! I care about having NO OTHER VENUE for warning the residents about the rising incidence of RAPE, and ASSUALT, when the local paper doesn't want to make the mayor look bad by doing ITS job! And don't presume to know my mind! YOU are the one pretending! You're pretending to think you can understand the English language! I never said anything about flyers creating a world of Ned Flanders walking around humming Mr. Roger's theme song!!! NOR did I say anything about HS being unique...on the contrary...we are pathetically typical. Don't even try to ponder that one.
As for going back to crime 101...I have more knowledge of the world of law and order in my pinky finger than you will ever have...no matter how many CSI episodes you watch. I come from a LONG LINE of police officers...and KNOW what a thankless job it can be. I also know how crime spreads, and what leads to it! Greedy, self absorbed politicians and judges, along with hapless, clueless idiot constituents like you make it easy for crime to flourish! However, I guess i am on the "dweeb" link here...I'll go back to crime watch link where the people have more pressing concerns. Plant some flowers or something...that way, the last sight the next victim will see might be a pretty one.

@ orinal Cyndie - btw - there is no such thing as originality. Try reading Edward Saids' article "On Originality."

Wow - yet another uniformed person with goofy logic.
I have seen Jim King and Michael Trecaso outside on too many occasions to count peeling off stickers and taking down flyers - actually, pretty much every morning.
And of course the bar owners dont bother.

Obviously the business owners don't really care if the signs are trashy looking or they would get out there and take them down.
