Cascade Locks Park Association (CLPA)

Cascade Locks Park, a Heritage Park for Akron's Future, offers a unique opportunity to celebrate our industrial heritage and reclaim a bit of long abandoned and abused urban geography into an outdoor laboratory for environmental education, historic interpretation and community recreation.

The Cascade Locks Park Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in June of 1989 for the purpose of designing, planning and implementing the Cascade Locks Park from Locks 10-16 along the Ohio & Erie Canal while preserving, protecting and promoting the industrial, cultural and commercial heritage of the area. Cascade Locks Park is positioned as part of Cascade Valley Metro Park and serves as the gateway from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park into downtown Akron.
